The Pumpkin Patch at Brits Farm

The hayride over to the maze and pumpkins. It was a very cold day, but we are glad we went. A group of us from our ward went together. Koy had so much fun. Scarlett put up with it. I just love how her little button nose gets pink in the cold!
A little play.
Koy picked them out!
There were mostly only green ones left. A funny thing happened after everyone left. I didn't get pictures, but I have to tell. There is a petting zoo at Brits too, but no one but us wanted to go because it was so cold. So, off we tromped to see the animals in the back, just me, Koy, and Scarlett. My arm was about to fall off. Anyway, we get to the gate and I tell Koy to go in. He is a little apprehensive, but walks about 4 feet in. All the goats start surrounding him looking for a handout I'm sure, when one big goat sneezes right in Koy's face. I started to laugh, but had to stop because Koy started to cry! It was funny though. I went in with him after that, but he didn't last long. He kept clinging to me. I told him that they just wanted food, and he said, but I don't have any! Like, why don't those stupid goats know I don't have food. On the way out, Koy stepped in poop, and we spent about 10 minutes wiping it out of our car because I didn't notice it until then! Yuck! I should have never encouraged the whole petting zoo! The baby ducks were adorable though!

Geaux Tigers!

We love LSU! Geaux Tigers! (Notice Kable isn't in the picture!) At our house when we ask Koy what day Saturday is, he says,"Football Day!" We're trainin 'em young!

The Anderson's Move! :(

The neighborhood won't be the same without you!
Will, Ike, and Koy

A picture of the boys, of course I didn't grab one of Anne and the babies and I! Dang it! This was a very sad day. I had to prepare Koy for his best friends to move away. When I first told him he started crying and said "no, Mom." It was so sad, I almost started crying too. The Andersons have been such good friends and neighbors. They are the ones who actually told us about the townhouse we now live in. A weird coincidence: Anne Anderson is also my sister's name, who I miss dearly. (She lives in Utah.) Anne and Mike went to Utah State like Kable and I. They really are good people who will do anything for you. Most afternoons, you could catch Anne and I on our front porches watching our boys play/fight while holding our babies and providing popsicles and swapping new ideas for recipes and crafts. I miss that. Koy said to me after they moved out, "Mom, someone needs to move into there!" He thought someone would take their place immediately. I have to say, it has been lonely! It sure was nice to have a friend watch my little ones when I need to run a quick errand, and fun to switch goodies on our Kansas sunflower plate. I miss those weekend dates when we switched off babysitting so we could each go out with our sweethearts too. Ode to the Andersons! We miss you!

My First Craft Booth

My friend Rachell and I sold our craft stuff at a consignment sale called "Little Britches."
We did well, and had a blast. Her baby, Bella, is 2 months older than Scarlett. It is fun to have a new friend to craft with and share ideas.

Richard and Chrisy came to Visit!

My random shoe picture! I got these sassy gladiator hot yellow wedges for $3.99! What a steal! My new favorite shoes, and I find any excuse to wear them. Kable said, you really like those shoes a lot don't you? Why? You wear them a lot. Yep! He doesn't seem to like them as much as me!

Richard and Christy were on their way back to Utah from Virginia Beach where they were for summer jobs. We are glad to be a stopping point for any and all family and friends who are traveling! Bring on the fun! I made a huge, huge batch of jambalya, bread sticks, salad, and cookies. I know Richard likes to eat (and so does Kable), especially when it comes to Cajun food which he doesn't get very often living in Utah. I gave Christy the recipe under Richard's directions!

Scarlett's Blessing Day

So, we have more pics in her dress, but I still have to order the CD. Ugh, so behind. My Mom and Dad got to be here for church then left right after to drive back to Louisiana. They had come to our house after Kat's tournament. It was nice to have them here for such a special time.

Kat's Volleyball Tournament

Mom and Dad drove out from Louisiana for Kat's first tournament. We met them in Council Bluffs. We had so much fun at the hotel. Mimi and Pops brought this train book (The Little Engine that Could) to Koy and Pops read it to him with dramatic voices. Koy loved that! Pops even took Koy to Cabellas and bought him a sportsmens t-shirt. Then they went out to eat. We had to call and check on them to see if they were coming back to go to the games they were taking so long! Pops said he was just really enjoying being with Koy! How cute.
Kat serving the ball. They won all their games. Koy, Scarlett, and I drove from Manhattan, about a 3 hour drive to Council Bluffs. I was nervous to go alone with my kids, but we made it. They were really good in the car. Now Kat's team is # 1 in the country and going to Nationals the weekend before Thanksgiving. Too bad I am coaching a basketball tournament that same day!
It was so fun to watch her play. She is a starter and doing well as an outside hitter.
Crazy K's.
Crazy boys!
Beautiful girls!

Scarlett models

My baby model!

Wee Wigglers

So, Koy finally got to go to pre-school. He loves it. He only goes one day a week, and for him it's not enough. His friend Cooper from church is there that day too, so he loves that even more.
Koy was so excited he could hardly contain himself in the car.
The long walk to the door!
C'mon Mom!
Up the narrow stairs.
Keep goin!
Play time!
Koy is such a sweet good boy. We are glad he is in our family. He sure is social. He loves to play with his friends. His teacher said that he never causes problems at pre-school, and is a good boy. He loves to do his homework. We love you Koy! Stay that way!

Scarlett's 2 Month Stats

Scarlett amazed me at her two month appointment by growing 2 1/2 inches! She is now 23.5 inches and she weighs 12 pounds .75 oz. That makes her in the 77 % for her height and 66 % for her weight! Her head circumference is 39.5 cm and is in the 55 %. The doctor said she really is a beautiful baby. Of course I love to hear that! :)

Elyse

Meet Elyse. She is the only kitten born in her litter. Cache' really suprised us there. (Her mom.) Anyway, she is really cute and very fat and happy. She is a doll faced seal point Himalayan. Koy makes sure she is socialized and we love her, but she is for sale. Check out my website: sarahssassycats.webs.com to see more information. There is a link to it under my "bloggin buddies" on this blog.

Scarlett n Koy

I happened to snap this from my phone at just the right moment to catch Scarlett trying to laugh. She is so cute. She tries to laugh, but can't quite do it. I love this picture, too bad it's not better quality. My best two munchkins.

Bread Sticks and Jambalaya

Richard and Christy stopped in for short while on their way back to Utah. I wore myself out and made them a yummy dinner/lunch for them. It was so good that I think I need to share recipes!

Anne Anderson's Bread Sticks (my neighbor, not my sister)
1 T yeast
2 T sugar
1 1/2 c water (warm, not hot)
Mix and let stand 10 min.
Add:
3-3 1/2 c flour (add until not too sticky)
1 t salt
Let rise until double in size.
Roll out dough & cut into long strips with pizza cutter. Roll strips on melted butter and twist. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese & garlic salt . Let raise in WARM oven 10 min. Bake at 400 for 15-20 min.

Jambalaya
2 onions
2 bell peppers
Chop, and saute in oil until soft
3-4 chicken breasts cut up into bite size pieces (I defrost in microwave, cut up, and then add to veg in pan and cook together)
1 lb andouille sausage sliced, add to mixture
rice (maybe 4-5 cups, I always guess, and I use instant to speed things up. I put in microwave to cook after I defrost chicken so it's done and ready to dump in when chicken and everything else is done cooking)
Mix all together and add Tony Chackeries seasoning to taste, and a little salt and pepper. Yum!

Dakota and Kennedy

Dakota and Kennedy on their first day of school! Anne texted this picture to me. Since they don't have a blog, I thought it would be fun for others who know them to see. Plus, they are so dang cute! I miss those girls!

Bathing Beauty

Oh my gosh! I am so proud of myself! I learned something new. This picture is taken with my phone! My brother Richard told me to email the picture to myself from my phone and it totally worked! Now, I need to add the rest! Oh yeah, this is my cutey pie in her swimsuit on the way to the pool. I made her bow too! SO proud of myself!

Topeka Summer Vacation!

So, I finally discovered the collage option on Picasa. Much faster, but small pictures, I know. Anyway, this is a collage of our summer vacation. Babies are expensive, so no Utah trip for us this year! Sad. We made it to Topeka, a whole hour away, though! We stayed overnight and this is what we did: got Koy's 3 yr old pictures, shopped, saw "Monsters and Aliens," went out to eat at Red Robin, swam in the hotel pool, played at Chuck E. Cheese (which Koy absolutely loved), checked ou the Good Will, played at Gage park, and swam at the aquatic center. We crammed it all in in 2 days! Whew, we were tired when we got back. PS: Funny side note- we don't know the kids standing with Koy in front of Chuck E. Cheese. They just wanted to be in the picture!

Tuttle Creek Beach Area

This is officially the happiest I have seen Kable at a water place. No one there to bother him, and so peaceful. I on the other hand did not like it. The water was so yucky looking that I didn't get in, and so I was very hot. Koy started crying when Kable tried to get him in, and Scarlett wasn't happy either because she was so hot! Ugh, and Kable said that if I wanted to come here every day in the summer he would! Thanks babe! What a tempting offer! It is the closest thing to a beach here. I guess I am just spoiled with Perdido Beach, which I am planning on making next Summer!

Me and My Girl!

Scarlett has begun to smile, and I just love it! I kind of got one here, but it's hard to get on camera! She also likes to coo a lot. Koy didn't talk this much at this age, I'm thinking we might have a talker on hand.

The Fair

This mama pig just had her babies the night before! They were so cute.

Koy did NOT trust the animals, as you can tell in all these pictures!
Not even the rabbits!

This little girl from our ward wasn't afraid. She even let this calf suck her finger.

The rides! We didn't do many, but Koy chose this one. He didn't crack a smile until I started yelling "hi Koy" to him every time he passed by me, and then he got a turned around I think because he started smiling and waving to these people that were standing right before me every time he came around. It was hilarious!
Finally a nervous smile at the end of the ride! He called it the Nemo ride.
We were there late, but Scarlett was a trooper. Not a peep out of her, but she did steal the show. Everyone loved her. People would see her and comment on how beautiful she was, and how she looked just like an Ann Geddes baby peeking out of my sling with the huge flower on her head. One random lady even had to take a picture of her! As you can tell, I didn't have much time to get ready. No makeup and wet hair, oh well, such is the life of a mom.
This is the other "ride" Koy went on. He was a little scared I think, but Dad was with him. I thought Koy might flip over Kable as they came down. But, he had fun. I had to drag Kable to the fair, but we ended up having so much fun. Well, at least the 3 of us did!

Koy Says....

Today at breakfast, Koy prayed for all of us, including the little boy that I was watching, and then decided to bless Caillout too! For those of you that don't know, Caillout is a cartoon on PBS that he loves. Whenever we make cookies he always says,"Like Caillout Mom, that's what Caillout does, he makes cookies."

And, since I will forget later, here are some other funny things Koy has said:

*He calls trains "choo choos"
*Monkeys are "whoo whoo ha has"
*Rice krispies are "pop pops"
*Horses are "hee hees"
*Kable and I are a two in one, as in when he address one of us, it can be either, he says,"DaMa"
*He pointed out a "huge stick" to me one day when we were walking home from the pool. It really was a very tall stump!
*He is really into saying the word "nasty" lately, apparently I say that a lot!
*His new thing is to say,"Here I am!" to everyone. Like, I'm here and now we can get the party started!

Scarlett is 1 Month

So, Scarlett wasn't too happy with me for taking her pictures here, but it is pretty funny! She must have got her Mom's temper! Anyway, here are her stats for her one month appointment. She weighed 10 pounds, 9 oz and that is in the 86%. She was 21 inches long, the 45%. Her head was 34 cm and her BMI was 16.85. I'm not sure that she would want her BMI posted! Ha ha!

Flower Clips!

So, I had Jane's girls over to give her a break because she is now pregnant and sick! We had fun with crafts and made flower clips and 4th of July bracelets.

Scarlett's First Bath

So, she isn't real fond of baths yet, but she is putting up with them now. I love how she is going cross-eyed here tryng to see me.
