Zoo

We went to the Hogle Zoo at the end of our Utah trip. Koy had so much fun and of course I loved seeing all of the animals. Char and Carrie were nice enough to invite us and show us around the zoo. It was our first time there. There was even an albino alligator on loan from the Audubon zoo in Louisiana. We got to feed the giraffes too, well, we weren't really supposed to, but fed them some grass and they have really long tongues.

Swimming!

Swimming party at the "Club" near Kable's parents home. All of the cousins came to swim, even the newest one! Melanie's baby Matthew was born on her birthday while we were there.

Utah Friends!

Jess and me and her cute doggy!
Ginger, Melanie, and me. It was so fun to see them. It has been so long, plus Ginger was engaged to be married not long after I saw her. They both seemed happy and doing well.
The kids!
Kable and his most of his friends from high school. They really are such nice guys and it's always fun to see them and their families when we go to Utah.

Green River Lakes!

We got to go camping while visiting Kable's family. We went to Green River Lakes, a cherished spot by the Smiths in Wyoming that I have never been blessed to see. I was so excited when I found out this trip was planned. You see, I hear all about the adventures that have been had there by all, except me. It was beautiful. The mountain in the background of the lake picture is called Square Top, and many a Smith has hiked to the top, but not me. The hike Kable, Koy, and I went on was hard enough for me. We hiked to a place called Slide Creek Falls. I had no idea how far it was. We ran out of water (I ended up sipping from a mini waterfall and was lucky to not get sick)and let's just say were not quite prepared for the length of it with a little one. To Kable's credit, he did carry Koy most of the way and did try to save me most of the precious little water we had left. By the end, I was just saying my prayers to get me back to the tent and the lake, so I could soak my feet in the ice cold water! The only complaint I had other than that, were the numerous mosquitoes! Ugh, we were eaten alive. Don't think the nice smelling, not greasy feeling bug spray works on those mountain mosquitoes either! It doesn't. We tried! Poor Koy looked like he had chicken pox by the end of the time there. We even left a day early mostly because of those dang pests. I also couldn't believe how freezing cold it got at night. I couldn't sleep very well b/c it was so cold, neither could Koy. The bathrooms there were actually not that bad, for outhouses! I was kind of suprised. Okay, so I'm not a camper. I enjoy the beautiful sites, but not the bugs, cold weather, scortching heat, dirt, and nasty bathroom conditions! Something else I learned- never trust a guy, (Kable), to pack for a camping trip. Guys just don't pay attention to details and think they can get along without everything-blankets, water, bug spray, etc! Although, I must say he was nice to pack.

Tree House

While we were in Ogden, Angie and Cooper brought us to this children's museum called The Treehouse. It was so fun. There was story time, different cultural items, a music center, a giant grandma that told stories, play centers, crafts, and a giant tree with a slide (that Koy managed to tumble down and came out crying at the end) and much more.

Utah

We got to go to a Smith family reunion at a water park. We should have taken more pics! These are all we got, but you have to admit, Koy is pretty hilarious!
We stopped and saw Britney and Jed on the way back to Ogden. Here is a cute picture of Koy and Brooklynn. Koy was really sick with diarhea and throwing-up and unfortunately passed the bug to Brooklynn.

A Visit with Mary at the Hospital

The girls!
Thumbs up!

We had fun visiting Mary at the hospital. It was the beginning of our trip out to Utah this summer 2008. We met my mom, Anne, Rachel, Gigi, Julie, and Tessa there. She fared well after her surgery. There were a lot of prayers and a blessing.

I love this picture of my two handsome boys! Man, they're lookers! I got so lucky!

4th of July Celebration at the Balsmeiers!

We had so much fun that night! There was a blow-up jumping house for the little ones, flies-up for the guys, good food, lots of company, and amazing fireworks! I mean it too. They go all out for the fireworks! The Balsmeiers were so nice to throw such a huge and fun party.
